Know how to measure your sqft.

In order to determine the square footage of your home or any other space you first have to measure the square footages of all the different parts of the space and then add them all together. So first break down the area into manageable parts. If the space has an odd shape, it can be easier to split it up into even squares or rectangles
Measure the length of the first portion and multiply it by the width.Do the same thing for all the other portions and then add the square footages of all the spaces. Using this method, you can find the exact square footage of a space and of the entire home.
Depending on the shape a space has, you’ll have to use different formulas for finding the square footage. For example, if an area is shaped like a half circle, find the diameter, divide it by 2 to get the radius and use the equation π × r2 where r is the radius, and divide by 2 to get the square footage. For a space shaped like a triangle, the equation is ½ (Base x Height)
